oddrid said: Cool! Hey how do you read new manga typically?
A few ways! First, if I’m marathon-reading a series, the quickest method is to use DomDom Manga Downloader to download whole series at once, then read them using HoneyView3. I highly recommend this method instead of reading on manga aggregation sites when catching up on long series.
That’s not to say those aggregation sites are bad, though. For series I read weekly/monthly, I mostly read scanlations on Batoto and MangaStream. For series not on those sites, I use MangaHere or MangaInn as backup. All four sites are listed in order of preference and recommendation. When I’m desperate, I’ll check MangaReader, and if a gun is held to my head and I have no other choice, I’ll consider MangaPanda and death equally.
To know when new chapters are released, I use MangaUpdates. You can use that site without registering, but if you do register, you have access to the awesome filtering feature, which lets you hide or color-highlight genres and demographics of your choosing from the release list. For example, my MangaUpdates front page right now looks like this, which makes it easy for me to find shonen.
I think that covers how I stay on top of everything I read. I hope it helps!
Hey everyone! It’s time for one of my extremely infrequent Tumblr updates about what’s happening over on my shonen manga site Shonen Beam.
First, I recently selected and announced the winners of the 2013 Shonen Awards, celebrating the best (and one worst) of the year in shonen manga.
Next, I just finished up a long list of suggestions for 30+ shonen authors on what they could do to improve their series this year in Shonen Resolutions 2014.
Finally, this Wednesday (Jan. 8) at 7pm EST, we’ll wrap up the new year festivities with a live stream via Google+, in which we’ll have a big group conversation on the best and worst of the last year, as well as what we expect and want from 2014.
I hope everyone is doing well! Now, back to lurking.
Team Mario Land 2
Mario Fortress 3D
A Mine for Pigs?
A Machine for Craft?
not sure if this would be terrifying or comical or both
wait a sec, now that I think of it, im pretty sure it’d just be terrifying because let’s not forget minecraft is already terrifying.
Team Pokemon 2.
Team Tetris 2: fit the mercs together in a tidy pile!
Why, yes, I think I will.
Trinecraft 2, although Minetrine 2 has a nice ring to it.
Monaco Crossing… Interesting
Football Universalis MMXIII. Sorry ladies, I’m taken.
yooo everybody. my mom and i were goofing around and found this seriously FUCKED UP site. all your information, (phone number, nam, address even) is available for 2.99. like everything. please watch this video on how to remove it. (im not sure if it’s there for minors, but if you’ve ever owned/rented a house you’re definitely there. it’s worth checking it out to make sure.)
video on how to remove information. : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPFLagxnDsA
fucked up website: http://www.spokeo.com/
also, if you’ve lived in more than one place/state it has you multiple times, remove all of your profile things. (it had my mom 4 times, all over our state. even from when she lived in a house 9 years ago.)
SIGNAL BOOST THIS SHIT
oh my god
HOLY FUCK THIS ISN’T A JOKE. THIS IS FUCKED UP.
So, THIS is how Bronies got a hold of my old CA address when they were trying to harass me… too bad it was about 14 years out of date. Signal boosting.
Find your own profile on the site. Copy the URL. Go to spokeo.com/optout and paste the URL in the provided field and follow the rest of the instructions.
It’s funny, in the “old days” everyone had their address and phone number in the phone book and it was no big deal. The fact that we regard these things as private information now really makes me feel like the world is getting nastier. Or more that it’s gotten easier for the nasty people to be nasty.
InstantCheckMate is another of these sites - there are multiples out there unfortunately. Remove yourself here: https://www.instantcheckmate.com/optout
at least they had the wrong phone number for me. I’m guessing they snagged it from Facebook where I changed it to try to redirect the student loan calls to my parents
Hey all, it’s been a while. Two things to bring me out of semi-lurking:
1. My shonen manga site, Shonen Beam, is looking for new writers! If you read shonen manga and like to analyze and discuss it, check out this post for details and get in touch! Please share this information with anyone you know who fits the description, as well.
2. I was the featured guest on the latest episode of Metaverse! The nice folks at Metanorn.net devoted an entire show to shonen, and invited me over for a long interview about a variety of shonen topics. (Some of the many titles we discuss include One Piece, Naruto, The World God Only Knows, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Shingeki no Kyojin / Attack on Titan, and more.) It was a really fun experience to be the one answering questions for once, and the discussion was interesting, so please check it out.
That’s it for now. I hope you’re all still checking out Shonen Beam; we’re working on additional content to make the site even better. Just today, we launched a new feature called “5x5,” where a relevant or interesting topic is broken down into five questions for five shonen experts.
Anyway, back to quietly Liking cute pictures of animals. Take care, everyone.
Ok I just wanna talk about how beautiful Attack on Titan’s artwork is
I mean look at that
the sky’s so pretty
and the scenery
you can see the waves in the water and the texture of the trees
and you can see all the details on the buildings
and the animation
is so smooth
A perfect summary of everything wrong with the anime adaptation of this series. Couldn’t be more wrong.
Ok, let me get this straight.
Hirohiko Araki, creator of Jojo’s Bizarre adventure, and Yusei Matui, creator of… something else…. are doing a cooking show? Woah…
Yuusei Matsui is the creator of Assassination Classroom and Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro, both excellent series.
Also, this is neat.
everything i love about hetalia in one photoset
i’ve finally found it… my favourite hetalia fan art<3
This has made me emotional
I’ll stop reblogging this when it stops being awesome
This is really neat Civ V fanart, despite no one mentioning that. Pity about all that Hetalia ruining it.
